Georgian Venture Capital: Funding Guide for High-Growth B2B AI Companies
B2B technology companies that have already established meaningful revenue and are preparing for major scale may be a fit for Georgian, a Toronto-headquartered growth equity firm specialising in software and artificial intelligence.
Georgian is very different from a seed fund.
Its current Growth Fund strategy usually targets Series B to Series D companies generating approximately $6 million to $50 million in ARR, with typical investments between $25 million and $50 million.
What Is Georgian?
Georgian was founded in 2008 by software entrepreneurs and has spent its history investing in B2B technology companies built around data, analytics and artificial intelligence.
As of December 31, 2025, the firm reported $5.8 billion in assets under management and was investing from its sixth flagship Growth Fund.
The firm’s current strategy covers the AI technology stack, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity and developer tools.
Who Does Georgian Invest In?
The flagship Growth Fund targets high-growth B2B technology companies.
The key profile is:
- Typically Series B to Series D;
- Approximately $6 million to $50 million in ARR;
- Operating in a very large potential market;
- Building technology with significant AI relevance;
- Capable of becoming a category leader.
Georgian says it aims to make only about six new investments each year.
That concentration allows the team to spend substantial time with each portfolio company.
How Much Can Georgian Invest?
Georgian’s current website says initial investments target $25 million or more, while its investor materials describe a typical Growth Fund investment of $25 million to $50 million.
For later-stage breakout portfolio companies, Georgian can participate in follow-ons and minority recapitalisations exceeding $100 million.
This is therefore not an appropriate target for a startup raising a $1 million pre-seed round.
What If Your Company Is Too Early?
Georgian operates a Nurture Program for high-potential businesses below roughly $6 million in ARR.
The programme allows Georgian to engage with companies over three to six months, often by working on technical projects.
Importantly, the Nurture Program is not itself a guaranteed capital investment.
The objective is to build relationships and understand the company before it reaches the primary Growth Fund stage.
Georgian’s AI Lab Is a Major Differentiator
Georgian does more than provide capital.
Its internal AI Lab includes machine-learning engineers and scientists who can work directly with portfolio R&D teams on production AI systems.
Georgian says it has collaborated with more than 50 growth-stage technology companies through this technical model.
For an AI company, that means the pitch should be technically credible.
Do not simply say that your platform uses artificial intelligence.
Be prepared to explain model architecture, data advantages, compute economics, defensibility, accuracy, deployment and the role AI plays in delivering customer value.
What Markets Does Georgian Target?
The firm’s investment leadership describes its search as spanning the United States, Canada and EMEA, and Georgian says it invests in companies around the world.
The target market should also be large.
Georgian specifically seeks companies it believes could lead markets worth $10 billion or more.
How to Approach Georgian
Georgian’s sourcing model is highly relationship-oriented and does not currently centre on a generic public “Apply Now” form.
The firm’s team actively identifies companies and develops relationships before investment, sometimes months before a financing transaction.
Founders should therefore engage relevant Georgian investors early rather than waiting until the final week of a Series C fundraising process.

For established B2B software companies with significant recurring revenue and a genuine AI advantage, Georgian can combine large-scale capital with something uncommon among growth investors: an internal engineering organisation capable of working directly on the product.
